ELAN Wales aims
to:
- - reclaim a place for theatre in the lives of people as a rightful
and irreplaceable space for memory, history. power, the search for
individual and collective identity;
- -put Wales and Welsh culture in contact with a wider, European
and international context;
- -bridge the gap between high art and community events
- -establish a dialogue with and between a people, their history,
culture, language, geography and architecture
- -propose and implement the concept of training as empowerment;
- -provide an alternative to - and raise - current performance training
standards at professional, academic and community level through the
formula of the performance montage;
- -motivate performers' self exploration and development by encouraging
them in their desire to develop new talents and skills and generating
a programme of on-going training;
- -establish a true and dynamic dialogue between different artistic
languages such as music, movement, text, singing and vocal work, poetry,
visual and time-based arts
